they can if there is any chance of it falling off and being a risk to there product so if it fell into the meat counter it would soil the meats

they can also dictate how they like in the same way you might refuse a hire who is carrying an open box of kebab meat smothered in sauces knowing as soon as you look forwards there greasy fingers will be in it

Tico, it's bollocks!! What they should have said, if it was that important to Wm Morrisons is " look, take off your badge, and we will go one better, we will put up a sign or a picture of Lee Rigby over the counter and hold a collection for the Help for Heroes charity."

You don't threaten people with disciplinary action for showing their support. You just find another way in the spirit of compromise, if there is a genuine problem.

These young guys are fighting for their country and situations like this should be dealt with in a sensitive manner. :-|

Oh and here's another little nugget, Tico. The help for heroes charity should ask Wm Morrisons Plc for permission to take up collections in this store, and if they refuse, after the action take against Mr. Austin, everyone should boycott Morrisons and hit them in the pocket. :-|

You would hear them whistling a different tune when they see the effect, the bad publicity has on their bottom line. :-|

you just having a knee jerk reaction to it when you look at large picture you will see i right about it an company just doing it the right way

now focus your effort on getting the lad a state funeral so his memory is never lost

We are talking about Wm Morrisons Plc when you speak of the company doing things the right way? #-o

Tico, take one emotionally charged incident and an insensitive manager, who can't wait to exercise his power over people. This was a minor infraction of the rules which turned into a pi**ing contest.

You need to make yourself familiar with the Peter Principle, Tico, to know how all of this came about.

People tend to be promoted up to their "level of incompetence". It wasn't about the rules, it was how the situation was handled under the circumstances. :-|

you are correct to a degree but it is you who is emo charged i explain

365 day per year morrison managers are told no badges jewelry etc on any member of staff

this is standard policy for a food chain

as a manager she did what her job says she shood do

he chose to say no way jose

he left her with no choice but to suspend him

once she suspends him he has to go to an inquirey

if they dont follow proceeedure then all employee start making own rules up to suit

for anyone who cant see that then they shood vote with feet an shop elsewhere

it doesnt get an simpler than that he broke company rules he was given chance to put it right he chose to two finger the manager an she then had no other option other than to suspend him

wether it well meaning or not the fact it's a food retailer means they have to obey health an safety rules

like the video say .......... the rules are there for your safety and that of your team the team being the customers
