Is anyone concerned about the amount of foreigners coming over here and applying for taxi licenses? I dont know what the situation would be for them as far as the crb check goes. I'm no racist, and its well known that the majority of them are great workers, and seem to be prepared to work for next to nothing. Could it be a bit worrying for the trade? :?:

The London Minicab trade is about 85% immigrant labour.

Its basically because the wages are sheeite, and people over here won't work for a pittance, so the easy answer is to get more east Europeans and Africans in who will.

I think it used to be called the slave trade or something like that?

Unless you subscribe to Captain Cab's revisionist history which characterises it as the country being built on the backs of immigrant labour. :?

Sounds like being built on the backs of immigrants to me.

Your very right TDO, today is little difference, except they dont speak the same laguage and may be a different colour.
