I know I've missed it somewhere here, but are they licensing the Fiat things as WAV HCs?

Did anyone see the letter in the tele last night about wheelchair taxis?

One bit that confused me was that they seem to think that the doblo seats will be out all the time, at least i think they were talking about the doblo.

the other bit was where the letter says that drivers wont loose money if they run a TX2 because they can take all the disabled.

It makes you wonder, but this seems the way some councilors think as well.

I have just taken delivery of my eurobus it is a well equipped cab but the stories that people are walking past us guys is not worrying me in the eventually with the way things are going shortly the majority will have to put them on so if they don't want to get in my cab its fair enough i will just wait on the next guy that does. I would rather be seen in a eurobus than a doblo i have been asking my customers and i am pleased with their answers and a few have said to me i hope it's not one of those things that look like a fish van hah hahh, then i explain no the eurobus is a different kettle of fish excuse the pun.....lolololol :D

Does this story in the Tele mean that the existing fleet will have to change as well?

I mean fancy everyone having to be treated the same, what's the world coming too?

Oh, and what's all this about the £1,500 a year? You kept that quiet Mr Scot.

the any new or replacement quote only applies to the new plates for the moment but reading the letter from 203020 in the same paper maybe it will apply to all vehicles soon they always seem to know things in advance of everyone else ....

This time next year when they have missed a few payments on their cabs they will be begging the Council to close the door again.

there was only two hacks granted on thursday because of a holdup with the dvla over christmas itll be two or three months before most are granted then all will feel it, theres talk the council may stop granting when
they reach a certain number but i cant see it as it would be hard to estimate a number without doing a wav survey ,the story about the new taxi in the paper states he done 25-30 wheelchar jobs ,yet he has only been on the road 9 days, this is the opposite of what the dta have been shouting about for decades claiming there is no demand for wavs in dundee, its more a matter of the disabled not phoning for wavs because they gave up years ago knowing it was a waste of time, the offices still wont take any bookings fot wavs ,id say they would need 30 per office before that was possible, with 90 odd applications waiting to be heard this will be achieved by summer,al the storys seem to be congratulating the council for doing this but nobody is asking why this wasn,t done ten years ago imagine what difference it would have made to some, if it wasnt for the 20302 court case /hired plates the council would still be ignoring the disabled untill the law forced them to act....

Re wav`s,
I worked with a guy in Dundee for a number of years, who now works with Tay taxis, he runs a wav,he went to the end of the earth to accommodate the disabled,he hiked from one end of the town to the other for belters,he also, with my help, built up a good customer base and a good account base,he worked hard and spent a lot of time and effort to get a good business built up.
Having spoke to a few "new" plates this week they are not interested in building up disabled work they and i quote"`e`ll no dae wheelchairs unless eh have tae,em not wanting f####d aboot when its busy".Most of them will not get f####d about as they will go on the streets or with an office that`s not interested in running a booking system solely for wav`s(unlike we did a few years ago).
So nothing is going to change significantly for the disabled customer until all the vehicles in Dundee are wav`s.

BE HAPPY

Had a bloke in my cab tonight just moved in our english patch from Dundee, I asked him about all this about taxis there.

Dundee he said was a [edited by admin] hole, even the birds fly upside down cos theres nothing worth [edited by admin] on, you lot here have it made its lovely and all the people are friendly and you taxi drivers here are salt of the earth, help courteous and can converse.

then he said dundee is the three js
jam, jute, and journalism.

hes looking forward to having english children.
