Well again that's missing the point a bit - of course others may want to take advantage, but my point was, why would the first passenger acquiese to that? The passenger has nothing to gain, but would be further inconvenienced and as I said could end up sharing with an undesirable?
You said that the driver could take up to an EXTRA £50 a shift, which is clear profit, and I suspect the average bus passenger will have their basic income around this level, so I suspect some of them won't be hugely sympathetic if you're only getting a pound for a drive that you would have done anyway as dead mileage.
OK, some may accept the inconvenience and the risk of sharing with undesirbables because they want to see the driver earning more pounds, but I doubt if that will be a universal view. Perhaps my view would only be held by a small minority, but neither you nor me know this for certain.
You seem to imply that I'm not living in the real world, but the point is that I am, whereas your scheme is little more than an idea.

Fine, but if you can't have the possible pitfalls pointed out to you then perhaps you're not as confident about the scheme as you make out - you certainly seem a bit paranoid to any suggestion that the scheme in practice would work less perfectly than it looks on paper.
